Charlton Flax Bourton is in a spacious, modernised Georgian property within its own grounds in the picturesque village of Flax Bourton, yet benefiting from excellent transport links to Bristol. The nursery is open 51 weeks a year from 8am until 6pm, and we also offer the option of extended hours, from 7.30am and to 6.30pm, to those who need them.
Our manager is Kim Bazley who’s been with Charlton Nursery for 10 years and she heads up a fantastic team. We welcome up to 101 children from six weeks to five years old.
Our children benefit from our Forest School programme, which is led by a qualified school teacher, who visits us once a week. We teach French and Spanish to our older children and other regular activities include Stretch n’ Grow sessions once a week, as well as Music with Mummy sessions once a fortnight.
Having first opened in 2010, Charlton Flax Bourton underwent significant improvements finishing in 2018 which included adding a modern extension.
Keen to make the most of our fantastic grounds, in 2017 we planted an orchard with productive fruit trees and a raised bed vegetable patch. We welcomed rescue chickens shortly afterwards, with the aim of producing our own eggs, which the children enjoy collecting.
