Charlton Nursery News
Flax Bourton improvements unveiled
Our Flax Bourton Nursery was recently expanded with improvements including the installation of a stunning bespoke new cedar and glass pre-school building, with a fabulous outdoor covered classroom, a brand new kitchen, laundry and cloakroom facility. We also planted an orchard, installed raised beds for gardening, and created a sizeable coup for our new (rescued) chickens! We were also able to offer an additional 30 spaces to children. The story featured in local press.
Our FOUNDER Helen talks about Charlton Nursery’s background in The MetrO
Helen Nott, our founder, was interviewed by The Metro daily newspaper as part of their coverage of inspirational entrepreneurs. In the piece Helen talked about Charlton Nursery’s origins as well as the passion and dedication she’s invested over the years to make it into the highly regarded, award-winning nursery group it is today.
Grenfell Tower Early Years Nursery fundraising
We raised £4,900 to help the nursery based in the Grenfell Tower after it was completely destroyed in the tragedy. Our activity was inspired by three-year old Beattie Waring, one of the pre-schoolers in our care, who wanted to help fellow children in the capital.
We received tremendous support for our activity and were visited by BBC Bristol and subsequently made the national news. Beattie was able to travel to London to present the Nursery manager with our cheque in person, and shortly afterwards she was thrilled to receive a letter in recognition and thanks from Prime Minister, Teresa May. This is something she’ll treasure forever.
Helen Nott highlights Bristol’s unique character
Charlton Nursery founder, Helen Nott, was recently asked about the benefits of living and working in her native Bristol for business publication, Real Business.
In a focus on the area, Helen praised the character of the city, the on-the-doorstep countryside and close-knit community.
